Day 1 – Friday 28th June 2019 – Outward Journey to Normandy
We will leave school and head for Dover for the ferry to Calais. We recommend that students take a packed lunch for the journey. We will drive to our accommodation and check-in, in time for our evening meal.

Day 2 – Saturday 29th June 2019 – Normandy Caramels, Bayeux Cathedral and Tapestry and Arromanches
Breakfast will be taken and we will drive to Caramels d’Insigny, a traditional caramel manufacturer in Normandy where we will be able to see how their products are made (extra, €4 per person, payable locally). We will then drive to the medieval town of Bayeux, the Cathedral and the famous Bayeux Tapestry (extra, €6 per person, payable locally) which celebrates William’s victory over Harold at the battle of Hastings in 1066. We will then visit Arromanches 360, the only circular cinema in France. With its 360 degrees projection over 9 High Definition Screens, we will be plunged to the heart of the action during the D-Day landings (extra, €5 per person, payable locally). We will then return to our accommodation for dinner.

After breakfast, we will drive to Mont St Michel, where we will spend the day. On the way, we could stop in Avranches and walk around the market in the Place du Marche. We will then continue onto Mont St Michel where we can explore the 15th and 16th century houses on the island commune. We could then visit the Abbey (extra, €8 per person, payable locally) which is one of the most visited attractions in France and will give us great views over the Bay which is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. We will then return to our accommodation for dinner.

Day 4 – Monday 1st July 2019 – Chocolate factory and journey home
Breakfast will be taken and we will load the coach. We will drive to the Beussent Chocolate Factory where we can see how the chocolate is traditionally made. We will then continue our journey onto Calais where we will take the P&O ferry back to Dover. We will then return to school.
