Day 1 Friday 05 July 2019

Relax and enjoy our scheduled flight from London to Ho Chi Minh, Vietnam.

Day 2 Saturday 06 July 2019 - HO CHI MINH (SAIGON) ARRIVAL

On arrival at Tan Son Nhat International Airport, our guide and driver will meet and transfer us to downtown Ho Chi Minh to allow us to check-in to our accommodation, we will have time to relax and freshen up before we take a Cyclo Tour around the city.

We will then enjoy the Water Puppet Show.

Overnight in Saigon.

Day 3 Sunday 07 July 2019 - SAIGON – TAY NINH – CU CHI TUNNELS

A full-day tour to see two of North Vietnam’s most iconic structures. We will head North from Ho Chi Minh City to the Great Holy See Temple at Tây Ninh, before touring the legendary Cu Chi Tunnels of the Viet Cong. The Great Holy See Temple was built in 1926 as the first temple and Holy See of the Cao Dai faith and is considered one of the most remarkable structures in all of Southeast Asia, it acts as the headquarters of this unique sect, which is a hybrid of Buddhism, Christianity and Confucianism.

We will proceed to Cu Chi to explore the amazing site where the Viet Cong hid during the Vietnam War, now a popular spot for both Vietnamese and overseas visitors and includes a network of over 120 miles of tunnels which became legendary for their vital role in the Vietnam War. In their heyday, the tunnels were functioning underground cities, including numerous trap doors, specially constructed living areas, storage facilities, weapons factories, field hospitals, command centers and kitchens.

We will now take the bus back to Saigon.

Day 4 Monday 08 July 2019 - SAIGON – MYTHO MEKONG DELTA – CAN THO

After breakfast we will drive from Ho Chi Minh City to My Tho then continue the day with a walking route around the village. This will be a good chance to explore daily local life.

Start by a visit to Chuong Duong eco-tourism site, then to bee farm, try some honey tea, enjoy variety of tropical fruits while listening to traditional Southern Vietnamese folk songs (Don ca tai tu Nam Bo) performed by local artists. Continue to wander around the village, then stop for a while to visit a family making coconut candy, taste some local confectionery and take a fresh and relaxing walk in the garden.

Lunch at a local restaurant.

This afternoon, continue your peaceful cruise on Tien Giang River and visit a floating fishing village and a local fish market.

Day 5 Tuesday 09 July 2019 - CANTHO – CAI RANG FLOATING MARKET – SAIGON

We will have an early morning start today by taking a boat trip to visit Cai Rang floating market. We will stop and visit a local village and have the opportunity to see how they make their specialities and look at their gardens.

We now transfer back to Saigon, our overnight location this evening

Day 6 Wednesday 10 2019 - SAIGON CITY TOUR – FLIGHT TO HUE

Remnants Museum - Vietnam

After breakfast we will visit the Reunification Palace. We now continue to visit War Remnants Museum, where exhibits on Vietnam War and Indochina Wars are displayed, & Notre Dame Cathedral.

Your guide will meet you at your hotel and driven to the city’s Central Post Office, which was designed by the renowned French architect Gustav Eiffel.

Next, stroll toward the Saigon River along Dong Khoi Street, which figured prominently in Graham Greene’s famous Vietnam novel, The Quiet American, to the Saigon Opera House, a commanding building completed in 1901. Shelled during World War II, it was used to shelter French citizens fleeing North Vietnam in 1954, the year Vietnam earned its independence from France.

The tour continues with a stop at the Reunification Palace, where a North Vietnamese tank crashed through the gates in 1975 to end a war that killed an estimated 58,000 Americans and three million Vietnamese. You will also visit the War Remnants Museum, where Vietnam’s government has assembled presentations - some of them graphic - of wartime hardships and atrocities.

Continue with a visit to Tan Dinh church and nearby Tan Dinh market. Tan Dinh church is a complete contrast to traditional Notre Dame Cathedral, but equally impressive with it's high steeple and distinctive pink desgin. It is one of the most beautiful and unique churches in Ho Chi Minh city with its dazzling architecture and sculpture patterns and inside is just as dramatic. Wrap up your day with a wander through the vibrant Tan Dinh market next door, where you can haggle for a bargain.

Day 7 Thursday 11 July 2019 - HOI AN ANCIENT TOWN – FLIGHT DEPARTURE

This morning our last day of the tour will start with a Walking tour in Hoi An - this will give us the opportunity to discover the historic town and previously a prosperous seaport city during the 16th to 18th centuries. Its sizeable community of foreign merchants resulted in a unique architectural style with Vietnamese, Chinese and Japanese influences. We will Visit the Phuc Kien temple (Chinese temple), ancient houses Tan Ky, and finally the Hoian market.

Meals: Breakfast included.

Then transfer to Danang Airport for departure flight.

Relax and enjoy our scheduled flight from Danang to London Gatwick.
